Anne Bertrand obtained her diploma in visual arts from the University of Ottawa in 1986 after studies in ancient languages and literature. Since then she has been working in visual arts administration first at Artexte from 1993 to 1995, and again from 2001 to 2004, after a very fruitful foray of several years into the private and community sectors. In 2004 she became the administrative coordinator of Skol and since 2005 its artistic coordinator. She is particularly interested in the recognition of the specificity of the skills of visual artists as well as their economic development. As an artist she produces assemblages composed from materials found in her everyday life which are chosen for their shapes, colors and rhythmical patterns.
